Get involved with a <a href=\"\/sea\/studentleaders\">student organization<\/a> or start a <a href=\"\/sea\/clubs\">campus club<\/a> to refine your leadership skills.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Search for jobs &amp; internships<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"\/career-services\/handshake\">Handshake<\/a> has new jobs and internships posted daily, both on-campus and off-campus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/hr\/student\/huskyhires\">HuskyHires<\/a> lists UW Bothell student jobs currently available<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.idealist.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Idealist<\/a> posts volunteer, internship and jobs daily<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dice.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dice<\/a> posts new jobs for technology professionals<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indeed.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Indeed<\/a> uploads new jobs daily<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washington.edu\/students\/osfa\/ugaid\/workstudy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Work Study<\/a> posts need-based financial aid programs that give students the opportunity to work part-time while going to school<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/hr\/employment\">UW Employment<\/a> gives you access to open staff and faculty positions at the UW<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/connected-learning\/celr\/student-resources\/service-opportunities\">Community-Engaged Learning and Research<\/a> shares ways you can support and engage with UW Bothell community partners through remote service, job opportunities, and virtual events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/connected-learning\/celr\/student-resources\/postgradservice\">Post-graduate service opportunities<\/a> are available if you want to continue your service-learning opportunities after graduation &#8211; check out some of these great programs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usajobs.gov\/Help\/working-in-government\/unique-hiring-paths\/students\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">USAJobs<\/a> gives current and recent students access to federal internships and job opportunities  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Benefits of an internship<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You are more likely to land a job in your industry of choice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You get extended exposure to a potential employer and experience with them<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You gain something substantive to put on a resume<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You gain a job reference, and hopefully a letter of recommendation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You might get college credit (depends on the internship)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Online resources<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are a variety of career search and resource websites for people with disabilities. Here are some of the many resources available:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/careers.uw.edu\/blog\/2022\/04\/28\/unique-job-site-can-help-neurodivergent-people-find-meaningful-work-while-being-themselves\/\">Neurodiversity Career Connector<\/a> includes useful job searching resources for those who identify as neurodivergent. Neurodiversity commonly includes but is not limited to, autism, ADHD, dyspraxia, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and\/or Tourette Syndrome.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.affordablecollegesonline.org\/college-resource-center\/resources-for-students-with-disabilities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">College Resources for Students with Disabilities<\/a> includes tips and resources to help students transition from college to career and reviews of several technologies and advocacy groups available to students with various disabilities, including ADD, autism, and more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/abilityjobs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ability Jobs<\/a> was the first and largest employment website for job seekers with disabilities. They are the only employment site where all postings are from employers specifically seeking to hire people with disabilities. You can search through thousands of jobs as well as post your resume anonymously for free.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wearecapable.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chronically Capable<\/a> helps jobseekers with chronic illnesses and disabilities find flexible jobs. They work with organizations to gather flexible and remote work opportunities from various industries. Their platform has full-time, part-time and contract roles from leading companies across the world.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.affordablecollegesonline.org\/college-resource-center\/resources-for-students-with-disabilities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">College Resources for Students with Disabilities<\/a> includes tips and resources to help students transition from college to career and reviews of several technologies and advocacy groups available to students with various disabilities, including ADD, autism, and more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dshs.wa.gov\/dvr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation<\/a>\u2019s mission is to assist individuals with disabilities to secure, maintain, advance in or regain employment. They provide counseling, employment, and assessment services for those who face substantial barriers in finding sustained employment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.washington.edu\/doit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Do-It<\/a> at UW Seattle promotes the inclusion and participation of individuals with disabilities in challenging academic programs and careers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.enableamerica.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Enable America<\/a> is a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing employment among the 56 million Americans with disabilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gettinghired.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Gettinghired.com<\/a> is a website that empowers job seekers with disabilities to find employment by removing barriers and connecting them to employment and career resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/askjan.org\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Job Accommodation Network (JAN)<\/a>. Trusted consultants offer one-on-one guidance on workplace accommodations, the ADA and related legislation, and self-employment and entrepreneurship options for people with disabilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.limeconnect.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lime Connect<\/a>: is a global not-for-profit organization that&#8217;s rebranding disability through achievement. They attract, prepare, and connect high potential university students and professionals, including veterans, who happen to have disabilities, with scholarships, internships, The Lime Connect Fellowship Program, and full time careers with their corporate partners.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.miusa.org\/ncde\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE)<\/a> helps persons with disabilities interested in studying, teaching, conducting research, interning, or volunteering abroad to find exchange programs and any disability-related accommodation and accessibility information needed to make the international experience a success.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.recruitdisability.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Recruit Disability<\/a> is an informational platform regarding Job Seekers with disabilities and the programs that support them. You can browse popular job categories, check different salaries, upload your resume and set up job alerts that fit your professional criteria.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/wrp.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Workforce Recruitment Program<\/a> is a recruitment and referral program that connects federal and private sector employers nationwide with highly motivated college students and recent grads with disabilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">For employers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.askearn.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability Inclusion (EARN)<\/a> provides support to employers in their efforts to recruit, hire, retain, and advance qualified individuals with disabilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dol.gov\/odep\/topics\/Employers.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Office of Disability Employment<\/a> provides valuable resources and best practices for employers looking to create an inclusive work environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your legal rights<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As a student with a disability you may have concerns about experiencing discrimination within your job search or career and what to do should it arise. The following are resources to help you understand your rights if you encounter discrimination on an application, in a job interview or in a work place.
