“I'm really surprised and grateful when I was chosen among hundreds of students for the Donor Excellence Scholarship. This is the last year of my bachelor's program so this scholarship is so meaningful and it is like a motivating gift for me to finish my degree. Honestly, University of Washington Bothell is the greatest school I have ever had because it has a safe environment, helpful teachers, friendly classmates and it grants the students many opportunities to improve or develop themselves. After all, I sincerely want to say thank you to UWB a lot for this honor and I hope UWB will still maintain this scholarship to help more students in the future.”

“I am honored to be one of the recipients of the Donor Excellence Scholarship. After coming to Seattle, continuing my education at the University of Washington Bothell is one of the best decisions I have ever made. There were many obstacles to completing my study, and financial is one of them. By providing me with this scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden, which allows me to concentrate and do better on my study. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generosity and everyone who made this scholarship possible.”

“I am honored to receive this scholarship and immensely grateful for the donors that made this opportunity possible. The UW Bothell School of Business has been amazing in creating an atmosphere that is both professional as well as welcoming towards their students and my experience here has not only expanded my knowledge in my academic pursuits but also granted me a chance for individual growth. This scholarship will help ease the burden of tuition and make my upcoming studies much more meaningful knowing that this award made it achievable. Thank you to the donors for your generosity to present a chance for students to actualize their ambitions and motivate them to advance their education at UW Bothell.”

“By awarding me the Donor Excellence Scholarship, you have lightened my financial burden which allows me to focus more on the most important aspect of school, learning. Your generosity has inspired me to help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me. The achievement of this scholarship is decisive for my continued success as a result of continuing my studies and earning a bachelor's degree in business, helping me to get into a university in 2 years. Studying in a hot major but my family's financial ability is difficult to reach, this scholarship gives me the opportunity to go out into the world, to gain many cultural experiences that I have never had. It helps me have more meaningful and valuable experiences then entering the working environment in the next few years.”

“Receiving Donor Excellence Scholarship was a great surprise to me, and I am eternally grateful to UW Bothell. This Scholarship will help me to complete my program study through paying my tuition for the class, books, code, and any supplies or materials that I need for the study. Also, it will support me in my education and give me more power to continue to study without thinking of the money or effect on my family budget. I am low-income and really need this Scholarship to achieve my goal in education and get a BS degree in accounting.
I faced many challenges and barriers financially to fulfill my dream and come back again to complete my studies and get a degree from a university. I pressured myself and my family to provide the money to complete my education. I borrowed money from banks and friends to buy books and study supplies and worked day and night to get the money for the study. I faced difficult and harsh conditions to complete my studies, especially at the beginning of my coming to the United States as a refugee. I did not have any money to go to college and as a result, I worked as a taxi driver for the long term during my studies in order to get money and pay for my education requirements. Thank you again for the University of Washington Bothell.”

“As an immigrant, one of the biggest challenges I have faced was not having the resources to accomplish my goal of becoming a professional. There were several financial barriers that I had to overcome to be where I am today academically, and many doubts about being able to pay for my education. I have never lost hope and it is because of donors like you that I can continue to work to fulfill my dreams. I am honored to say that I will soon become the first person in my family to have a US Degree. I am certain that continuing my journey at University of Washington Bothell was the right path for me. I am forever grateful to be a recipient of the Donor Excellence Scholarship! Thank you for your kindness, I look forward to one day being able to give back to many other students like myself.”

“I am honored to be selected by the University of Washington Bothell School of Business for the Donor Excellence Scholarship this Winter quarter. As a new student here at UWB I have been overwhelmed with the level of support that is shown to students here. The Professors here are very focused on helping students succeed academically and professionally. There are so many programs and opportunities given to students to guide us on our way to a great career and I am excited to be a member of this community. This scholarship is immensely helpful to me this year and I truly appreciate being selected to receive it. This next quarter I look forward to attending classes and connecting in person, without masks!”

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to you for making the 2022 Donor Excellence Scholarship possible. I am delighted and appreciative to learn that I was selected to be one of the scholarships recipients for the winter quarter.
When I moved to America, I came to pursue a better education and better opportunities. Before I knew what I wanted to do in college, I first worked in various companies in different positions to find what I was passionate about. Then, through some life obstacles, I knew that pursuing higher education is essential and opens doors to tremendous opportunities. Therefore, I decided to return to school after giving birth to my first child. I thought that since I was taking time off to care for my daughter, it was an excellent opportunity to focus on my education. I initially went to a community college to pursue an associate degree in business administration at Edmonds Community College. Then, I transferred to the School of Business at the University of Washington Bothell to pursue a bachelor's degree in Accounting.
I am currently a senior, on track to completing my degree by December 2022, and this scholarship would help tremendously cover my tuition during this challenging time. In addition, it would allow me to focus on my studies. My journey at UW Bothell has been incredible, where I met great professors and students that taught me so much. Furthermore, I'm fortunate to have found a great organization Beta Alpha Psi Mu Psi, to be part of that made me grow personally and professionally. UW Bothell would always have a special place in my heart. With that being said, I would like to thank every donor who made it possible for students like me to receive this generous fund and make my dream come true.”

“Being selected for the Donor Excellence Scholarship was a fantastic surprise for not only myself but also for my family. Since my time here at the University of Washington, I have continuously been surprised by all the resources to help students succeed. Currently, I am the Director Of Outreach at ASUWB; this scholarship will help ease certain financial burdens so I can focus on implementing projects that benefit the UWB community, such as the Student Of The Month Program and The Student Discount Program. I want to thank all the donors that made this possible!”
Alhan Pirjamali
“As a first generation college student, I remain forever grateful for the resources available to the students at UWB! Receiving this scholarship is very exciting and I wanted to thank all of the donors as well as the school of business for making this possible!”

“Thank you to the Donors and UWB Business School for providing such an opportunity for their students. To be selected as one of the recipients for this scholarship puts everything in perspective. During these trying times, a scholarship such as this will help fund my academic career and inspire me to influence those around me. This will be a consistent reminder as to why I took part in higher education. Thank you again to the UWB Faculty and their amazing donors, as they've continuously taken part in impacting the students on campus and also the Bothell community.”

“Being selected for this scholarship was a recognition of my achievements and what I have done to fulfill them. I do really appreciate that. I received a lot of help from not only my professors but also the faculty members. These people are also the reason why I can achieve my goal at UW Bothell. It’s a great place to pursue my degree. Thank you, the donors who made this scholarship possible.”

“I want to thank all the Donors and the University of Washington Bothell for your unconditional support and for motivating me to pursue higher education. As a first-generation non-traditional immigrant student, I never thought I would have a chance to attend a four-year university. This is one of my wildest dreams to come true, and it would not be possible without your support.
This degree is only the beginning of something bigger as a take the leap of faith in academia to represent the millions of young undocumented folks, those who have taken the hurdles of living in a household with a single parent, for those millions of people who struggle with depression and anxiety, and for those students who walk upon minutes and even hours to get to school in other countries. Truly, thank you!”
