The UW Bothell School of Business Alumni Board serves as a link between the UW Bothell School of Business and its alumni community for business-related connection, engagement, support and networking opportunities that fortify and further advance the School's programs, alumni, faculty, staff and community.
The Alumni Board works to enhance the brand of the School of Business and support the leadership team of the School with its various goals and objectives.
Goals & objectives
The UW Bothell Alumni Board leverages its time, resources, networks and professional expertise to:
- Ambassadorship: Serve as ambassadors who build relationships with key organizations and promote the interest of the School of Business to multiple stakeholders.
- Continuous Learning: Provide alumni regular opportunities to network and learn from business experts.
- Admissions: Offer support related to alumni referrals, “voice of the market” trends, information sessions support, enable corporate sponsorship of candidate travel and offer to communicate with prospective students.
- Career Guidance: Mentor current students in the School of Business with guidance for career success.
- Faculty Partnerships: Partner with faculty to support the classroom experience, internships, mentorships and class projects. Support faculty research and teaching excellence.
- Giving: Providing support for the annual fundraising gala of the School, encourage corporate matching gifts and commit to increasing alumni giving percentage every year.
- New Alumni Engagement: Improving the database of new alumni, developing an exit interview process for graduating students and engaging students and new alumni.
- The Alumni Board consists of a key group of alumni that are invited to serve by the Dean of the UW Bothell School of Business.
- The board is co-chaired by two to three alumni identified by the Dean.
- Future chairs are identified early to promote succession planning.
- The board meets once a quarter with the Dean of the School of Business.
- Other meetings and events are conducted on a regular basis, as needed.
- Alumni Board members support the annual fundraising gala of the School.
Matthew Carmean - Senior Ecommerce Category Manager
Matthew Carmean currently serves as a Sr. Ecommerce Category Manager at T-Mobile USA helping online shoppers across the US join the Un-Carrier. Over the past 10 years Matthew has held a variety of Digital & Product Marketing roles at Microsoft, BDA Inc. and Microvision. Matthew graduated with a BA in Business Administration from the University of Washington Bothell and currently lives in Snohomish with his Wife Callie and Son Marcus.
Jeff Moon - Business Development Manager

A Seattle native who graduated in 2013 from the University of Washington Bothell School of Business with an undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance. After a few years in public accounting, Jeff returned to his 46-year-old family construction company to oversee business development, operations and succession planning. Jeff enjoys traveling, working with hands and exploring new opportunities. Jeff and his company continue to find ways to support students of UW Bothell through sponsorships, fundraising and class participation.
Emilie Szeto - Project Manager
International Community Health Services
Emilie is fluent in integrating project management expertise with business acumen in both private and public sectors. In her most recent position she was the Compliance Project Manager at International Community Health Services. Her leadership, effective listening skills, and agility in solving problems have made her instrumental in the success of her projects, and the scope of her professional experience spans operations, marketing and accounting functions. She is also active in many professional and community organizations, including Bloodworks NW's junior board and Lean In Seattle. Emilie is a 2015 graduate of UW Bothell's Leadership MBA program and recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student Leader of the Year award, the school's highest award for students who made positive contributions to the campus and its surrounding communities.
Dipen Patel - Partner

Dipen Patel is a Computer Science Graduate of University of Washington Bothell. After having worked on several IT projects between Seattle and Mumbai, he realized the significance of technology driven enablement in this industry. He then founded Unico Connect LLP, providing highly customized software applications designed for the cloud and mobile ecosystem.
Unico Connect has taken companies over a range of domains right from inception to enterprise wide operations. Bringing in expertise on highly scalable technology platforms, he is now partnered with Kensoft LTD for Core Banking and Financial Software Applications designed for NBFCS, Microfinance Institutions and Business lending corporations.
Tomoyuki Maeda - Social Media Manager

Videology Japan, K.K.
Tomoyuki graduated in 2000 from the University of Washington Bothell School of Business with an undergraduate degree in Marketing. Tomoyuki lived a number of years in the Pacific Northwest. Tomoyuki is currently based in Tokyo living with his wife and son. He works with Videology, a global technology company in the advertising industry. Tomoyuki led the launch of the Japan market as the first local hire, and now regional media lead for APAC 11 countries. Videology runs business in over 25 countries, providing the world’s largest media companies, agencies and advertisers with software to plan, trade and execute digital and television video advertising.
Prior to Videology, Tomoyuki worked with NTT Plala (NTT Communications, NTT Docomo, Sony) as a starting member of SmartTV service Hikari-TV, launched in 2008. Tomoyuki was responsible to acquire and license VOD, linier TV for live and near live of sports and entertainment contents with both Japanese and foreign international studios, right holders and broadcasters. As a programming director and studio production assistant, he was responsible to optimize the promotion through the key strategic contents as well as producing original strategic contents for the original TV channel to create new value for greater customer satisfaction.
Tomoyuki was honored as a promotional advisor post for the Tokyo Bid Committee for the contribution to increase the approval rating by heading and igniting grassroots support for Olympic movement with fashion, music and art professional communities educating through organizing symposium, exhibitions, university presentations, fashion shows and concert demonstrations.
Mark Davis - President and Surgeon
Northwest Veterinary Surgery
Mark Davis is a native of Arkansas, but found himself on the West Coast after completing his veterinary education in the South. Mark and his wife own two local veterinary practices and Mark has owned several practices through the years in both Texas and Washington. After owning businesses for several years, Mark decided it was time to get serious about being a businessperson, so he sought admission to the TMBA program at the University of Washington Bothell where he graduated in June 2018. Mark is an avid cyclist and skier and enjoys time with family. He has published peer reviewed, original research in veterinary surgery and is recognized as a small animal surgical specialist by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Dustin Goss - President, Makota Co. & mywoodwall Inc
Dustin is a serial entrepreneur and a “Go-to-Market” product and brand strategy specialist. He started 3 businesses and acquired 2 others in the past 16 years, meanwhile bringing over 24 product lines to the retail market with 4 different brands. He maintained continuous Deans List grade achievements at UWB and graduated in 2002 with Magna Cum Laude honors with a BA in Business Administration, with a focus on Operations Management.
A few months prior to his graduation at UWB he stared POW Gloves, which is now in its 16th year of operation and holds an impressive top 10 market share position in winter sport gloves. He sold POW Gloves in 2015 along with two other brands his company acquired within the winter sports industry: Holden Outerwear and Spacecraft Collective. In 2015, he began Makota Co. a private label/OEM manufacturer that specializes in handwear and headwear that quickly grew to a very reputable position and today produces for some of the largest brands and retailers in the world such as Helly Hansen, REI, O’Neill, NIKE, Backcountry.com, KAVU and more. In 2016 Dustin then ventured into the Home Improvement/Hardware Industry with his brother Jacob Goss (also UW alumni, Mech. Engineering) with the start-up mywoodwall, a real wood wall paneling product that is quickly growing throughout the DIY center sales channels and is seemingly one of the hottest trends in home décor renovations. He now lives and occupies an office in the heart of downtown Edmonds, WA with his wife Febyolla and son Dusty Cooper.
William Graves - Managing Partner at GVM Acquisitions; Co-Founder and CEO at GOODLIFE Products
William Is a Seattle area native, and proud alumnus of UW’s Bothell School of Business. William began his professional career in sales, before enlisting in the Navy, during which time he advanced to become a non-commissioned officer and served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After being medically discharged (honorably) from the Navy, he used his GI Bill to pursue higher education at UW Bothell. William earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a dual emphasis in Management and Finance, and was voted “Most Likely to Become CEO” by his graduating class. He was also elected President of the Financial Management Association, which included organizing and participating in a Finance industry conference in New York with 20 members of the organization. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree, William left insurance sales to work as a Program Manager at a Swiss aerospace manufacturing firm. He then left his position as Program Manager in the Fall of 2017 to co-found and lead an eCommerce retail brand, as well as to co-found a real estate acquisitions business and accompanying private equity fund with a longtime friend and MBA alumnus of Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business.
William has great passion for education and helping others. He currently serves as President of the Mukilteo Schools Foundation, which promotes equity and equality in the Mukilteo School District through merit-based scholarships, classroom grants, and special projects. In his spare time, William enjoys participating in local clubs and organizations, investing, and living an active and healthy lifestyle that takes advantage of the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Kory Hoang - Co-Founder and CEO
Kory is a Co-Founder and CEO of Stably, a VC-funded cryptocurrency startup in Canada that is developing transparent USD-backed stablecoin for multiple blockchain protocols. Prior to founding Stably, Kory was a Private Equity Data Analyst for PitchBook in Seattle. Kory is also a quant trader who has consulted for hedge funds and CTAs on many subjects ranging from VIX derivatives to cryptocurrencies and algorithmic trading. In addition, he is currently a board advisor at Strix Leviathan, a Seattle-based hedge fund that employs AI/ML technology and automated algorithms to trade cryptocurrencies. Kory holds a BBA with double major in Finance and Marketing from the University of Washington -Bothell (2015).
Armen Khachatourian - Sr. Director of Industry Relations and Formulary Consulting
Dr. Armen Khachatourian, PharmD, MBA, HEOR is the Sr. Director of Industry Relations and Formulary Consulting for OptumRx, the third largest Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) in the United States. Dr. Khachatourian is responsible for managing large health plan and employer clients, assisting in fiscal strategy, contracting and innovative Value Based Reimbursement.
Dr. Khachatourian has had extensive experience in many healthcare roles. He spent time as a clinician at Northwest Hospital providing direct patient care and later transitioned to pharmacy administration at Group Health Cooperative (now Kaiser Washington) leveraging his clinical skills to design and implement broader reaching outcomes based, cost savings programs.
In his current role, Dr. Khachatourian leads a team of pharmacists, analysts and coordinators to identify opportunities for improved clinical outcomes, and evaluate revenue increasing strategies for both health plan clients and employers contracted with OptumRx. He is also currently responsible for managing contract term negotiations, RFPs, drug pricing and rebate management, among many other clinical functions including formulary and utilization management guidance.
In addition to leading his professional team, Dr. Khachatourian serves as a mentor for the University of Washington Department of Biology and the PharmD/MBA program. He holds biannual lectures for undergraduate students discussing opportunities in healthcare and strategies for success. He also serves as a mentor to pharmacy students throughout the country working with The Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP).
Ash Koppal - Sr. Consultant

Ash is a driven, entrepreneurial professional with a passion for optimizing processes and a thirst for interesting challenges. She has a breadth of professional experience across sales, marketing, consulting, business operations, program management and software engineering working locally and globally with startups, small businesses, non-profits and large corporations. She is an alumnus of the 2017 MBA program where she served as the President of the MBA Association and founded the Pacific Northwest MBA Conference. She is currently working as a Sr. Consultant to Microsoft through Bridge Partners Consulting solving challenges in business & marketing operations.
Jake Landsberg - CPA

Jake is a Financial Consultant and 2014 UW Bothell alum with a B.S. in Accounting. His interest in giving back was sparked when completing his first year as UW Bothell's Debate Team coach, and since then he's participated in numerous small business consulting and peer mentorship opportunities. In addition to the Alumni Advisory Board, Jake sits on the Entrepreneurship & Innovation Program Advisory Board at Gonzaga University, where he obtained his Entrepreneurship and Sports Management MBA in 2015. With an endless hunger for knowledge, he will be attending the University of Oregon's law school in the fall, and will concentrate on sports law there.
Daniella Lothrop - Co-owner and founder
Toggle's Bottle Shop
Danielle Lothrop is a Seattle native with a flair for nontraditional career paths. She studied print journalism at Western Washington University and graduated into a dismal job market for reporters in 2009. Recognizing her quandary, she teamed up with a group of like-minded individuals to create the first national food safety news blog, EatDrinkandBe.com; which gave her a taste for building enterprises from the ground up. Passionate about harnessing digital marketing prowess to make small, grassroots efforts “go.” She combined her training and talents as a digital marketing consultant for several publishing enterprises before pursing her ultimate goal of entrepreneurship. She found footing at the University of Washington Bothell School of Business, which inspired her to launch Toggle’s Bottle Shop. Toggle’s is a craft beer bar and bottle shop in the heart of Everett, Washington. Now she gets to promote her favorite small business with the support of her partner and co-owner, Colin Lothrop, daily.
Brittany Malidore - Tax and Client Accounting Services Associate
Sweeney Conrad, PS
Born in Plattsburgh, New York, Brittany spent the bulk of her childhood on the east coast, in both New York and South Carolina. She moved to Washington state in 2013 where she met and married her husband, Michael, who was actively serving in the U.S. Navy. As a non-traditional student, Brittany began her academic path by serving as a military spouse, working full-time and juggling a full-time class schedule. Despite numerous family hardships, she was able to earn her Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Everett Community College in 2015 with accolades that include being awarded the 2015 Distinguished Graduate Award for the Accounting Department. In 2017, she earned her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from the University of Washington Bothell, where she graduated on the Dean’s List.
With a strong interest in business growth, Brittany started her career in public accounting in 2014 at Clifton Larson Allen. Brittany helped develop and grow their Outsourcing Department, providing accounting solutions for various industries in the Puget Sound. After three successful years at Clifton Larson Allen, Brittany joined Sweeney Conrad, P.S., as an intern in taxation, before moving into her current associate role that combines her passion for both tax and client accounting services. Staying true to her core values of teamwork, integrity and service, she enjoys spending half of the year as a campus recruiter for Sweeney Conrad. She loves being able to mentor and coach other young professionals in the accounting profession. She currently serves as the Vice Chair for the WSCPA Bellevue Chapter. When Brittany is not in the office or studying for her CPA, she enjoys spending time with her husband and five children. She is an avid Bunco player, and is a huge Husky and Seahawks fan. She currently resides in Lake Stevens, WA.
Alec Mountain - Founder and CEO
Alec is a strategic marketer, consultant, and entrepreneur. As a Seattle native, he was introduced to the technology scene at a young age. Since then, Alec has developed a strong passion for startups & business in general, along with the marketing and product development efforts that drive their excellence. He’s the founder and CEO of Product Blitz, a full-service marketing agency. Alec is driven by the ability to help his clientele execute growth strategies towards long-lasting business results for products & services that matter. Outside of his business, some of the activities he enjoys includes prototyping apps, salsa dancing, reading non-fiction, fitness, and community building. As an alumni of the UW Bothell School of Business, he serves on the board to further contribute to the success of the program through his expertise in marketing.
Jacob O'Hara - Financial Professional

Jake was born in Seattle, WA in 1985. He lived for 16 years in eastern Washington and eventually returned to Seattle in 2007. Jake earned his Business Degree from the University of Washington Bothell in 2012, where he participated in a cohort program, “the Eastside Leadership Center.” A pivotal point in his education was the opportunity to work closely with a professor who worked most of his career in investment banking in New York and Japan. His influence via teaching from practical experience and assembling conferences in New York for students to meet his ex-colleagues, etc., was an important experience for which Jake credits his decision for his career path. While working toward his degree, Jake worked for Safeway. After starting as a clerk while still in eastern Washington, he worked his way up to 2nd Assistant Store Manager for his last two years of school. Shortly after graduating, Jake put his knowledge and passion to work and joined Prudential in Bellevue, WA to begin his career as a financial advisor. After over three years with Prudential, Jake sought out a firm more aligned with his vision for his practice and joined Securian Advisors Northwest in early 2017. Jake holds his life and disability insurance licenses, as well as his FINRA Series 6, 63 and 65 licenses. In his free time, Jake is an avid Mariners, Seahawks and Huskies fan. Jake also enjoys reading, and is an accomplished BMX bicycle rider. He currently resides in Tukwila, WA.
Elizabeth Prendergast - Program Coordinator

Elizabeth is a Program Coordinator at the University of Washington Bothell, and proud alumni of the School of Business's Eastside Leadership Center. Elizabeth has worked and volunteered in several roles at the University including serving as a founding Ambassador for the University's BOLD (Business and Organization Leadership Development) Program, a leadership development program for undergraduate students. When Elizabeth is not on campus, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and dog Lucy.
David Thomson - CIO

David is a proven technology leader and entrepreneur. Having founded, run and sold small businesses, he brings a refreshing blend of business acumen with strong information systems knowledge. Presently serving as CIO of Pineapple Hospitality, David innovates guest room technology and oversees all IT infrastructure for this growing independent brand of hotels and restaurants. Originally an entrepreneur, David started his career founding a web application development and data center services company; he built the business up to seven employees, eventually selling it twelve years later. After a short stint doing consulting, David was recruited to start a new IT services department for Hard Drives Northwest and Computer Stop. During this two year period, he built up a large client list and helped optimize the companies’ point of sale and virtual server architecture. Having been the IT consultant for what would become Pineapple Hospitality, David was recruited to join this growing company directly in his current capacity.
Rob Wright - Founder and President

Rob is Founder and President of Wright Wealth Management, a Registered Investment Advisor serving clients throughout the Pacific Northwest, California and Arizona. He has 28 years of experience, and has held previous positions with Charles Schwab & Co., including Managing Director for Schwab Private Client Services and Branch Manager in Bellevue, WA. Rob is both alumni and an Adjunct Faculty member of the University of Washington Bothell School of Business, where he teaches Investments and Corporate Finance and graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Business Administration with concentrations in both Finance and International Business.
Vin Yarnmunilert - Program Manager
The Boeing Company
Vin is a seasoned Program Manager with over 20 years of industry experience spanning operations, engineering and supply chain. Having recently spent six years on international assignments in Europe and part of his childhood in Asia, Vin brings a broad, international perspective to bear in diverse situations. Currently, he oversees a team responsible for technical Program Planning and Control at the Boeing Company.
After years abroad, Vin is happy to be back in his home town of Seattle. In his spare time, he enjoys being creative and active through soccer, music and sampling good food and fine wine. He also likes to dabble in home remodeling projects and entertaining new business ideas. A true Husky, Vin received his Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering from UW Seattle and MBA from UW Bothell.
