From websites we suggest for trip planning to tips about gear and packing lists. If there are additional questions you have about your next adventure email us at <a href=\"mailto:outdoor@uw.edu\">outdoor@uw.edu<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Useful trip planning websites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Route\/Trail Finding<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gaiagps.com\/\">GAIA GPS <\/a>\u2013 <\/strong>free, detailed topographical maps for navigating outdoor recreation spaces, there is an option to subscribe to a paid account that will open more map features.  Make sure you download any routes\/maps prior to going out on your adventure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wta.org\/\">WTA (Washington Trails Association)<\/a> &#8211; <\/strong>comprehensive database for trail information in Washington State. You can use their hike finder map to locate your next adventure. You can search by trail length elevation, trail features and more!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.alltrails.com\/\">AllTrails<\/a> &#8211; Trail maps and reporting for navigating outdoor recreation space. There are free and paid versions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Weather Reporting<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.noaa.gov\/\">NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration)<\/a> &#8211;<\/strong> weather predictions by location up to 7 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nwac.us\/\">NWAC (Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center)<\/a> &#8211; <\/strong>local avalanche and snow hazard reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.windy.com\/?46.733,-116.990,5,p:favs\">Windy <\/a>&#8211; multi-faceted and interactive weather reporting up to 7 days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Land Unit Websites<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/index.htm\">National Parks Service<\/a> &#8211; For updates on all National Parks.
