Create your UW NetID

Your UW NetID is your key to accessing UW services — from accepting your admission offer to registering for classes. It will also be used to create your UW email address: You’ll just add @uw.edu to your NetID.

 

Before you begin:

Find the email and password you used when you applied online to be a student at University of Washington Bothell. You will need this information to create your new UW NetID.

Forgot your online application username or password?

 

Access the UW NetID creation form:

  1. Go to uwnetid.washington.edu/newid/ 
  2. Select “I don’t have a UW NetID (or I’m not sure)”, then press “Next >
  3. Select “UW Applicant for Admission”, then press “Next >
  4. Click on the “Sign in to verify your identity” link in the yellow box (see screenshot below)

  5. You will be directed to log in with the email and password you used when you applied to UW Bothell (see screenshot below)

  6. After logging in, you can now follow the prompts to create your NetID in the portal

 


Frequently Asked Questions 


I can't remember my online application username or password.

You will need the username and password you used to submit your online application in order to create your official UW account. If you forgot your online application username or password, use the link provided to get help.

I'm using the correct username and password from my online application but I'm not able to create my UW NetID.

You must use the username and password from the account you used when you submitted your first online application to the UW. This can be a little tricky if you applied to more than one campus of the UW and you used different online accounts through CollegeNet or Coalition.

Do I need a system key and Private Access Code (PAC)?

No, you do not need a system key or PAC. Follow the instructions to sign in with your application username and password to set up your UW NetID.

I reset my online application password.

If you reset your online application password, you can still proceed to create your UW NetID. Double check that you have the correct username and password by logging back into your online application account activity. Once you can log in successfully, you can proceed.

I applied online and have the correct login info but can't proceed.

If you know that you are using the correct username and password, but still cannot create your UW NetID, please contact the Office of Admissions at 425-352-5000 or uwbinfo@uw.edu.

I already have a UW NetID (Including current/former Cascadia students, UW staff, Harborview employees, etc.).

If you already have a UW NetID, please update your profile. You will be asked to log in with your UW NetID username and password. This process will add your status as a UW Bothell applicant/student to your existing UW NetID account.

I already have a UW NetID and forgot my UW NetID password.

If you already have a UW NetID and you forgot your password then you will need to reset it. Go to the UW NetID password reset page. Enter in your UW NetID username and then choose a method to verify your identity. If you choose "Your UW Online Applicant for Admission Identity", then you will be asked to provide your online application username and password.

I already have a UW NetID and forgot my UW NetID username.

If you already have a UW NetID and you forgot your username, you will need to retrieve it. Go to the UW NetID username retrieval page. Verify your identity by providing your online application username and password. Once successful, you will see your UW NetID displayed at the top of the page.
