Ana Karaman is the Vice Chancellor for Administration, Planning and Finance at the University of Washington Bothell. At UW Bothell, Dr. Karaman manages a $60 million annual budget and develop strategic long-range financial plans for the campus. Dr. Karaman also directs facilities planning.
Dr. Karaman was most recently the the Vice Provost for Institutional Planning, Budget and Effectiveness at the University of San Francisco, a position she has held since 2011. Before the University of San Francisco, she was the Associate Vice President for Business and Financial Affairs at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. She began her 11-year tenure at Samford as an assistant professor of political science and subsequently moved into administrative roles of increasing responsibility.
Dr. Karaman holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where she also earned a master of science degree in criminal justice. She has served two National Science Foundation Fellowships; the first at Princeton University and the second at Harvard University. She also studied jurisprudence at the Far-Eastern State University in Vladivostok, Russia.
