2021-22 Strategic Priorities

2021-22 CAD Priorities

Dear Colleagues,

Due to the transition back to campus this autumn quarter, the UW Bothell Council of Academic Deans (CAD) has decided to focus 2021-22 strategic priorities on this transition. CAD will reflect on this decision before winter quarter 2022 to determine whether to reevaluate.

In addition, CAD will convene two subcommittees (that may include non-CAD members) to evaluate campus structures with recommendations to the VCAA for the following issues:

  • Deltas (or other methods) that Institutional Research (IR) can use to automate the annual identification of faculty with teaching loads that are significantly different from expectations. These deltas/other will be used as part of the annual teaching load report produced by IR and available on the VCAA SharePoint site that all employees at UW Bothell have access to.

  • Campus-wide policy for compensating faculty who support efforts that result in student FTE for individual schools and are not currently compensated.
    Chair: Dean Cornick

Along with the subcommittees, the VCAA has charged all schools to focus on the following issues for 2021-22:

  • Campus-wide Community Engagement Undergraduate Learning Goal (continued from 2020-21)
  • Promotion & Tenure Guidelines (continued from 2020-21)
  • Transfer Admissions Empowered Process
  • Assessment of Undergraduate Learning Goals

The VCAA plans to engage in active consultation with the GFO leadership regarding CAD priorities and welcomes GFO feedback.
