We understand that for avid runners, you're seeing many of your runs go virtual. We believe we've got a fun, engaging plan in place to ensure you're experiencing a collective, community event while practicing safe social distancing.

We’d be sad to cancel this fundraiser: in its 15 years sponsors and participants like you have raised more than $160,000 to  support UW Bothell students. This year, the UW Bothell Alumni Council has chosen to direct the funds raised to the UW Bothell COVID-19 Student Emergency Fund, which is currently receiving a record number of applications from students experiencing financial hardship during this unprecedented COVID pandemic.

What's this new race going to look like?

Here's the plan in a nutshell:

Pre-race, you'll receive a race shirt, bib, and a few other surprises in the mail.

The day of (May 16, 2020), you'll receive an email inviting you to start participating, anytime after 8 a.m.

The email will link you to a site that includes a few options: pre-recorded "Peloton" style videos that you can run/walk/cycle along to if you're using a treadmill of stationary bike, or a link to map your run before you head outside to complete your 5K (carefully observing social distancing guidelines, of course).

This new format will include exciting and deliberate ways to engage with other participants in a safe and healthy manner! You’ll have the opportunity to share photos that’ll be live streamed throughout the day, participate in a scavenger hunt (if you take it outdoors), and win additional swag/prizes for increased participation.
