Writing and Communication Center

What's in a name?

The Writing Center is now the Writing and Communication Center (WaCC for short).

The name change reflects the fact that we work with students on diverse projects in diverse genres. We work with students on “traditional” writing tasks, such as research papers, business memos, and reflective essays. We also work with students on projects that don’t fit as neatly under the “writing” banner, such as oral presentations, e-portfolios, and posters. In addition, we have tutors who are cross-trained in our Center and the Digital Media Lab who work with students on audio and video projects. Our overall mission remains the same: we help students become stronger, more confident writers and communicators.

These are exciting times in the world of communication, and we’re thrilled to support and learn alongside the students and faculty at UW Bothell. We look forward to seeing you soon at the WaCC!

Please pardon our virtual dust as we update our website and materials.

All the best,

Karen Rosenberg, Ph.D.
Writing and Communication Center Director
