I manage the day-to-day operations of the WaCC and train and supervise our Peer Consultants. I also facilitate in-class and stand-alone workshops on writing and revision, presentation methods, and reading strategies. I hold affiliate faculty status in IAS and co-teach BSSKL 400, the research journal editorial board (formerly the Policy Journal Editorial Board). I offer faculty consultation on workshop and assignment design.

I have 15 years’ experience in writing center work. I started out as a tutor in the UW Bothell Writing Center while an undergraduate in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences. That experience taught that writing centers are home for me. After I completed my BA in Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences, I set my sights on becoming a writing center administrator and on honing my own writing. While working on my MFA in Creative Writing (with an emphasis on fiction) at Oregon State University, I taught first year composition and introduction to creative writing, and took every opportunity I could to immerse myself in writing center praxis.

It’s a privilege to foster a collaborative and energizing space where students hone their writing and communication skills and processes in the peer-to-peer setting. I enjoy extending our reach outside the walls of the Center and employing creative methods to expand upon the rich and diverse set of services we provide.
