I remember picking up the first Harry Potter book in 6th grade at the school library. As I delved into the magical world of wands, hippogriffs and Polyjuice potions, I found that the cohesiveness of the sentences, the jigsaw puzzle of the plot, and the humor hidden in the sentences made this imaginary world come to life. I saw that my enjoyment of the book directly related to the effect of the writing style; and it was at this moment that I realized the power writing can have in evoking thoughts and opinions I never knew I had before. As I read my way through the rest of the Harry Potter books, I discovered my love for the written word.

I have been through the tedious process of getting a paper started; from brainstorming to citations, or struggling to meet a page requirement. I can help with various phases of writing such as getting your ideas across in a clear, comprehensive manner or the organization of the paper.

I joined the Writing Center because I believe that every student should have the chance to better their skills at writing. Whether you’re struggling with getting started, coming up with a thesis, or simply wondering how to use semicolons, I will be able to help in all aspects of the writing process.
