During what quarters can I apply?
International freshmen are admitted Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters, and international transfer students are admitted all quarters. Application deadlines are available on the international freshman and international transfer advising pages.
What is the TOEFL requirement?
All International applicants must submit official TOEFL, MLT or IELTS scores to meet the English Proficiency Requirement. UW Bothell requires a minimum TOEFL score of 70 (not including the speaking section) on the internet based exam or 237 on the computerized version. In place of the TOEFL, UW Bothell will accept a MLT (Michigan Language Test) score of 90% or an IELTS score of 7.

Why do I need to submit bank statements at the time of application?
If you have an F-1 student visa and have been accepted to UW Bothell as a freshman or a transfer student, you must obtain a new I-20 form from International Student Services (ISS). In order for ISS to process and create this document, you will need to submit copies of bank or financial statements verifying that you have sufficient funds to attend the University. You must prove that you are able to finance your education to include tuition, fees, living expenses, insurance, and books. International students are not eligible for financial aid. Please know that we request this information not only to process your I-20 but to ensure that you are aware of the expenses associated with attending UW Bothell and that you are able to fund your education prior to arriving in the United States.
What is the English Proficiency Requirement?
International Freshmen who do not receive English Proficiency scores (Link to chart) required for direct admission consideration may be eligible to participate in UW Seattle's Intensive English Program prior to matriculation. A conditional offer of admission will be granted under the condition students receive a minimum of 80% in the English Language Program within six months.
International Transfer students must meet the minimum English Proficiency scores (link to transfer chart) to receive admission consideration.
Am I eligible for financial aid?
International students are not eligible for financial aid but some scholarships may be available. F-1 students may apply for on-campus jobs and work up to 19.5 hours a week.
How do I receive my I-20?
All International applicants admitted to UW Bothell must submit all documents confirming admission prior to receiving the I-20. The I-20 will be generated by the International Student Advisor. For more information, please contact Rosa Lundborg at rlundborg@uwb.edu.
Does UW Bothell have on-campus housing?
Housing is available in communities surrounding the campus. We have an off-campus housing resource website that will assist you with finding housing, provide tips for living on your own, and help you with finding a compatible roommate. The University of Washington Bothell currently does not offer on-campus housing, but is exploring on-campus housing opportunities for students.
How many credits do I need to take each quarter?
All undergraduate international students must remain in full-time academic status (minimum of 12-credits per quarter).
