Check this page often for news about upcoming merit scholarships. Deadlines are usually posted at least a month in advance to give you plenty of time to prepare your application. Filipino-American Association of CPAs Scholarship Program

  • 2 Awards: $1,000 scholarships
  • Minimum GPA 3.0; have completed 2 quarters of Accounting major
  • Deadline: July 31, 2015

Freedom of Speech Scholarship

  • 2 Awards: $1,000 scholarship with no specific major requirements.
  • Write a 500+ word essay on “Freedom of Speech makes America Great”
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Deadline: August 1, 2015

University of Washington Alumni Association Multicultural Alumni Partnership Scholarship

  • Number of awards and amount varies
  • Full-time student at the University of Washington, undergraduate or graduate/professional
  • Minimum one quarter at the UW
  • Financial aid need as determined by the UW Office of Student Financial Aid
  • Deadline: August 3, 2015

Greater Minds Scholarship

  • $1,000 scholarship with no specific major requirements (accepted or enrolled)
  • Have a minimum GPA of a 3.0
  • Have been affected by Medical Malpractice either personally or through a close relation
  • Deadline: August 15, 2015

Just Porter’s Creator’s Scholarship

  • $1,000 scholarship with no specific major requirements (accepted or enrolled)
  • Essay question: "How does your creativity help change the world for the better? How has creativity helped define who you are?"
  • Deadline: August 31, 2015

Palantir Scholarship for Women in Engineering

  • All finalists will receive a grant—ranging from $1,500 to $10,000—to support their studies, and select finalists will complete a Palantir internship in either Summer or Fall 2016.
  • Undergraduate women who have completed at least one full academic year by Spring 2016 and can demonstrate a strong focus in computer science or a STEM field are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university and eligible to work in the United States. Applicants must also intend to be active, full-time students during the 2015-2016 academic year, toward which the scholarship grant will be applied.
  • Deadline: August 31, 2015

The HP Helion OpenStack scholarship

  • Scholarship awards four female candidates a scholarship of $10,000 each, plus mentorship and potential internship possibilities in the future.
  • Female students who are enrolled full time in an information systems or computer science (or equivalent) major and capable of developing a project using OpenStack technology and/or Cloud Foundry are eligible.
  • Deadline: September 30, 2015

Ignite AG Customer Advisory Board Scholarship

  • $1,000 scholarship
  • Current undergraduate or graduate Business student seeking to enter a marketing field focused around customer engagement or research.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Deadline: October 1, 2015

Psychology Access Scholarship

  • $600 Annual Scholarship
  • Students pursuing a Bachelors or Master's degree specifically in the areas of Psychology, Counseling, Therapy or Social Work.
  • Minimum GPA 3.2
  • Essay: How do you think social media will change psychology over the next ten years?
  • Deadline: October 1, 2015

Asian Women In Business Scholarship

  • Demonstrated a leadership role in a community endeavor and/or a record of entrepreneurial achievement.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Award: $2,500 plus an additional $2,500 (for a total of $5,000) may be awarded to applicants that have fulfilled the leadership requirements and can also demonstrate financial need.
  • Deadline: October 1, 2015

The Gates Millennium Scholars Program

GMS 2016 Application will open on August 1, 2015. To be eligible for the Gates Millennium Scholars Program students must:

  • Be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian American/Pacific Islander or Hispanic American;  
  • Be Citizens, legal permanent residents or nationals of the United States;
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 on an unweighted 4.0 scale or earned a GED;
  • Have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities;
  • Meet Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria;
  • Enroll for the first time at a U.S. located , accredited college or university (with the exception of students concurrently pursuing a high school diploma) in the fall as a full-time, degree seeking, first year student
  • Deadline:  January 13, 2016
