Louise Muro, a commissioned officer from the Bothell Police Department (BPD), began serving UW Bothell and Cascadia as a campus resource officer on January 1, 2017.  Officer Muro will respond and/or patrol all properties owned, leased, or otherwise occupied by the University of Washington Bothell or Cascadia College. 

Officer Muro has been a commissioned police officer for twenty years. She began her law enforcement career with the Chelan Police Department in 1997 where she patrolled school campuses. While there, she successfully completed the D.A.R.E. basic training course and developed a D.A.R.E. review curriculum for the Chelan Police Department. 

Officer Muro moved into her next position at the Bothell Police Department in 1999 as a patrol officer. She successfully tested for and was appointed to the Elementary School Resource Officer (SRO) position. As part of this assignment, she was given the opportunity to develop a new and innovative drug and alcohol awareness program in replacement of the D.A.R.E. program. She also researched, developed and implemented the Bothell Police Partners Program. She continued her commitment to youth and community related issues by becoming SRO to secondary education, first at Canyon Park Junior High then moving over to a permanant SRO position at Bothell High School.
