Sexual Assault

Sexual Assault - Emergency Guide

Sexual assault trainingWhat is the situation?

Most rapes and sexual assaults are committed by someone the person already knows.

What should I do?

  • Be aware of your surroundings.
  • Be assertive, direct and clear about reaching an understanding with a friend or a date.
  • Do not accept a ride from someone you just met.
  • Avoid excessive use of alcohol and drugs. Remember, alcohol and drugs impair not only your judgment but also your ability to make that judgment clear to someone else.
  • Don't walk alone after dark. Contact the Campus Safety Department for an escort to your destination if you feel unsafe.
