Selecting a Site, Class Day and Starting Quarter
The RN to BSN program is offered at multiple locations and at different times during the year. Students take the program together in a group as a cohort with a set course schedule; either as a hybrid bi-weekly class schedule or in-person weekly schedule.
The program is designed to be completed in a 4 or 9 quarter sequence of coursework. The 4 quarter program is considered to be full time and the 9 quarter program part time. The nursing courses meet one-day-per-week or every-other-week (if hybrid) from approximately 8:00-5:30 pm with two electives that may meet 2-3 times per quarter from 5:45 - 9:00 pm (2 of the 4 quarters). Additionally, the program consists of a Community Health Course which requires fieldwork outside of the classroom and may require travel within the region. The fieldwork is held in place of class time.
Whether on the Bothell campus or at one of our off-site locations, students apply to the UWB RN to BSN program, go through the same review process and experience the same curriculum. The program is offered at UW Bothell at two off site locations:
The Seattle site
Located at Harborview Medical Center the Seattle site is open only to employed RNs of the partner institution that have made this site possible: Harborview, Virginia Mason, UW Medical Center, Northwest Hospital and Medical Center, Valley Medical Center, Bailey Boushay House, Swedish, and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. The Everett site
Located at Everett Community College, the Everett site is open to all qualified domestic applicants and has no RN employer restrictions. See note regarding International Students at bottom of page. The Everett Site offers a hybrid cohort option winter quarter. The hybrid cohort meets bi-weekly up to five times each quater.
UW Bothell
Located at our main UW Bothell campus, this site is open to all qualified applicants and has no RN employer restrictions.

International Applicants
Due to a recent change in the US Immigration Services Law, international applicants holding an F-1 visa are temporarily not eligible to apply to our off-site locations of Everett and Seattle. This may change once the off-sites undergoes re-approval. For more information, please contact the International Center for Education at 425-352-3876. International students are welcome to apply to our program located on the Bothell campus.
