UW Bothell Nursing Admission Requirements
The following courses and other prerequisites are required by the Nursing Program and UW-Bothell for admission to the RN-BSN program. Applicants must show evidence of good academic standing (an overall transfer point average of 2.0 or higher) to be considered for admission. A grade of 2.0 or higher is required in each Nursing program prerequisite.
It is possible for students to be admitted without completion of all of the prerequisite academic courses, as long as they meet the minimum transfer admission requirements but students must complete all of the prerequisite courses prior to graduation from the Program:
- Requirements
- Associate degree (ADN*) or diploma in nursing.
- Successful completion of NCLEX Exam*

- Two years of a single foreign language in high school or two quarters in college
- Two years of high school Algebra or Intermediate Algebra in College**
- 5 credits English Composition**
- 3 credits Statistics. The School of Nursing maintains a list of acceptable statistics courses that have been offered in the United States. - 15 credits Individuals and Societies (Social Sciences)
- 5 credits Inorganic Chemistry

*Pre-licensure nursing students may apply if graduating before BSN program start date. New graduates will be offered "conditional admission" pending successful NCLEX exam and RN licensure.

***May be waived depending on statistics course
If you would like to figure out whether or not the courses you've taken count towards the admission requirements, the UW Course Equivalency Guide may be of assistance, or consult a UW-Bothell Admissions Advisor.
Admissions Advising
You are encouraged to make an appointment to discuss your educational plans. It is particularly useful to meet with an admissions advisor if you have questions about whether or not you've met the program prerequisites. In person, online chat, phone, and email advising are available. Please contact the Office of Admissions for advising or general information at 425.352.5000 or askuwb@uwb.edu. If you meet with an admissions advisor, please plan on having copies of all of your transcripts from prior schools (including high school) available.
