Graduate Certificate in Public Scholarship comes home to IAS

The UW graduate Certificate in Public Scholarship is now a three-way partnership between the School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at the University of Washington Bothell, the UW Graduate School, and the Simpson Center for the Humanities. Developed through the agency of the Simpson Center, the Certificate draws heavily on the portfolio pedagogy developed by IAS and the M.A. in Cultural Studies

Frontiers of Global Business

The UW Bothell School of Business is pleased to announce the Autumn 2012 schedule for its Frontiers of Global Business (FGB) speaker series. The program provides University of Washington, Bothell business students with an opportunity to learn from the global experiences and insights of Seattle-area business and public leaders.

Global Classroom

The University of Washington Bothell School of Business invites interested MBA or Masters level students from around the world to apply to attend a two-week intensive program in American Culture and Business Innovation Practices.  The theme for the 2012 program is “Becoming a Global Value Creator.”  Highlights of the program include:

  • Certificate of Completion.
  • Homestay with an American family.
  • Site visits with leading American Companies in the Pacific Northwest.  Participating companies include: Boeing, Microsoft,, Sonosite, Winshuttle, Halosource, Amazon, Real Networks and Fluke.
  • Interaction with Executives in Residence about doing business in America.
  • Ability to observe limited instruction in our nationally-ranked MBA program.
  • Social interaction with UW Bothell MBA students and alumni.

Computing and Software Systems (CSS):

Software Design & Development Graduate Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Software Design & Development (GCSDD) is designed for those who lack formal education in computer science, but desire to enter into the field of software development and/or pursue the Masters of Science in Computing & Software Systems. The Graduate Certificate consists of a total of 18 credits taken over the course of a complete academic year. Courses are taught in the evening, and meet twice a week on the UW Bothell Campus.

The Certificate in Electrical Engineering Foundations provides a pathway for students trained in other STEM disciplines to earn an EE certificate, and thus be academically prepared to apply for admission in our Master of Science in Electrical Engineering program.
