2013 Husky Adventures
What is a Husky Adventure?
Husky Adventures are events created for new students. Husky Adventures will occur on various days in September, October, November and December. We will also have more Husky Adventures throughout autumn quarter. Location of Husky Adventures vary, most take place on or near the UW-Bothell campus. Husky Adventures are free or have a small cost, so there's no excuse!
2013 Husky Adventures:
Kayaking - September 13, 12:30pm-4:30pm
Enjoy being on the water?! Want to learn more about the Bothell area?! Come join us for a day of paddling on the water and fun with other freshman like yourself! All levels are welcome! We will be meeting in the commons for a brief presentation, then take the bus to the Waterfront Activities Center in Seattle and partaking in an awesome day of canoeing and rowing on Lake Washington. Sports Field Food & Fun - October 4th, 3:00pm-5:30pm
Fun and Food... Free! Who doesn't like that? Come join us at the Sports Field for a taste of Bothell and a chance to hang out with other first year students (this event is only open to Freshmen). We'll get a sampling of the activities available at the Sports Field and then we'll get a taste of some of Downtown Bothell's eating options.
Underground Tour - October 11th, 2pm
The 1889 Great Seattle Fire buried the city. The current street level of pioneer square is actually the old 2nd story. Come with us on the Seattle Underground Tour and walk along the passages of the buried sidewalks, paths and storefronts. Tickets NOW ON SALE at the cashiers office!
Haunted Corn Maze - October 25th, 6:00PM
Join us for pumpkin carving in the commons followed by a frightful trek through Stocker Farm’s Haunted corn maze located in Snohomish, WA. We will be enjoying the health benefits of pumpkins while using our creative abilities to carve the coolest pumpkin and then carpooling to the maze. This event if only open to freshman so get a group of friends together for a fun filled night and purchase your tickets at the cashiers office! Only $3!
Theo Chocolate Factory Tour - November 8th
Have you ever dreamed about visiting Willy Wonka's chocolate factory? Well now you can! Come on UWB's Theo Chocolate factory tour Husky Adventure! See how Theo Chocolate Inc. namufactures their delicious varity of fair trade chocolates. Learn more about the origin of their company name and enjoy free samples! This event is offered to freshman only and tickets will be sold for $3 at the cashier's office.
Ice Skating - December 6th, 7:00PM
Don't sweat over preparing for finals. Come chill out with the Orientation team and fellow freshman at the Lynnwood Ice Center. Bring your ugliest sweater for a chance to win a prize! If you don't have an ugly sweater ask your parents or simply go to a thrift store. However, sweaters are not required.
Midway through skating at 9pm you can get a group of 3-4 students and test your skills at assembling and decorating a gingerbread house. The winning team will receive prizes!
Cocoa and cookies will be provided. This is a great opportunity to set up study groups with your fellow students to help with preparation for finals week.In addition, the OL's will provide studying tips and share personal experience about how to tackle finals.
Tickets are only $5 and skate rental is included. Tickets can be purchased at the cashiers office.
Since the event is off campus we will be meeting in the commons at 7pm if people want to caravan there. If people are able and willing to transport others please post on this page letting people know.
