Nursing Leave of Absence Policy

Leave of Absence Policy

Under certain circumstances, the Nursing Program may grant permission for a student to go on official leave of absence.   Normally, such a leave will be granted only for personal or family emergency situations and will be granted for a specific length of time.  If LOA is granted, it will then be the student's responsibility to contact the MN Advisor one quarter in advance of his/her return to active status in the program.  If prior petition for LOA is not made (or petition is denied) and a student fails to register for the next quarter, or if a student on LOA status fails to return in the quarter specified, the student will be dropped from the graduate program and will be required to re-apply during some future application period. LOA may be requested after completion of one quarter of graduate schooling.
