Barbara M. Hyland-Hill, DNP, RN, NEA-BC
Lecturer

Dr. Hyland-Hill has extensive executive and nursing leadership experience. She has held a number of chief nursing officer positions, with the most recent being the Vice President, Regional Chief Nursing Officer for Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Dr. Hyland-Hill is a board certified Nurse Executive, Advanced through the American Nurses Association. She has held faculty appointments with the UW Seattle School of Nursing, Seattle Pacific University, School of Health Sciences, and Seattle University, College of Nursing. Dr. Hyland-Hill is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives of which she is a past president. She is a member of the Gannett NurseWeek Mountain West Executive Advisory Board and is a past member of the Washington Patient Safety Coalition Steering Committee. Dr. Hyland-Hill has served on the Board of Directors for a number of not-for-profit community organizations.


Scholarship

Dr. Hyland-Hill’s scholarship has focused on leadership development and effectiveness, and nurse staffing models in various settings. She also has a deep interest in patient safety and high reliability organizations, professional practice environments, and care coordination and transition management.
