Academic Program Reviews
Reviews of existing academic programs are mandated by state law at 10-year intervals and at 5-year intervals for new programs. The responsibility for this review process at the University of Washington is delegated to the Graduate School who oversee this review process for all academic units including undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs. The assessment process is one of peer review, with review teams individually assembled from faculty of our and other leading research intensive universities for each program reviewed. The review guidelines can be viewed at http://www.grad.washington.edu/fac-staff/programreviews/.
The documents that are developed as a part of this peer review process are:
Program Self-Study Report
Review Committee Report
Program Response to Review Committee Report, and
Recommendation to the Provost.
