“My research is broad, kind of dispersed,” says University of Washington Bothell School of Educational Studies Professor Wayne Au, “ but it’s all in one big basket.”Au focuses on politics, power and social justice in education.
Thanks to a timely notice from UW Bothell, Ryan Dzakovic won a Veterans Innovation Partnership fellowship for a year-long position with the State Department’s Office of Global Partnerships in Washington, D.C. Dzakovic (master’s cultural studies ’15) is an Army reservist who served in Iraq and Uganda.
The new dean of the School of Nursing & Health Studies, Shari Dworkin, is enthusiastic about its nimble spirit, the opportunities to expand community collaborations and the possibilities for more offerings for health studies students.
Many of the students entering the UW Bothell Master of Arts in policy studies (MAPS) program already share a network of friendships and experiences in congressional offices that make them stand out. They expect the MAPS degree will help move them into careers where they can have an even greater impact.
Through his internship at 710 AM ESPN Radio, Daniel Kim gained the experience and confidence to work as an audio producer. “Through this, I feel like I could do this for a career now,” Kim says.
