UW Bothell Student Awarded Mary Gates Leadership Scholarship

BOTHELL, Wash. – The University of Washington Bothell is proud to congratulate student, Ignace Hounwanou on his award of a Mary Gates Leadership Scholarship.

The Mary Gates Leadership Scholarship is designed to encourage students to develop leadership abilities with peers and mentors. Students who receive the award are given an academic grant of $4,000.

Hounwanou is an international student from Togo, west-Africa. Currently in his senior year, Hounwanou anticipates graduating in June of 2011 with his Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Of the award, Hounwanou says, “I am so thankful for the Mary Gates Leadership Scholarship. This is a real financial boost for me as it will not only help me to be more involved on campus through my proposed project, but will also motivate me to look for more leadership opportunities to develop my leadership skills.”

UW Bothell looks forward to the contributions Hounwanou has to offer to his peers and community.
