Bothell, Wash – The 2012-2013 academic year has been a record-setting one for UW Bothell in producing competitive leaders and researchers at the undergraduate, graduate, and even faculty levels. Individuals from multiple disciplines have been selected for highly competitive awards, including several Mary Gates awards and the UW Libraries Research Award. UW Bothell has also presented a strong presence in the competition for several prestigious national and international awards, including a Coro Fellowship and four Fulbright Awards.

“These awards are the fruition of UW Bothell’s recent investment in student support services that help students identify and apply for scholarships,” says Hung Dang, associate vice chancellor of enrollment and student affairs. “This record growth in leadership and research scholarship awards reflects the goal of our institution to be a place where we nurture students to be successful academically and to be engaged in meaningful ways.”

The UW Bothell administration expects this trend to grow as students, faculty and staff benefit from the institution’s innovative programs and schools, including the new School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, which will be housed in the science and academic building scheduled for completion in 2014.
