The two winning teams from the University of Washington Bothell and Microsoft sponsored Internet of Things challenge are concluding their projects with a presentation today, April 14, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Makerspace, Discovery Hall Room 464.

Each team received up to $25,000. One uses motion and sound sensors that could map available parking or study spaces. The other is a way to manage electrical grids in developing nations to reduce the impact of rolling blackouts.

The Internet of Things refers to the network created when sensors, devices, buildings and vehicles that are connected exchange data and take adaptive actions based on intelligent logic.
