Mahnaz Javid to serve as Commencement Speaker for UW Bothell

BOTHELL, Wash. – The University of Washington Bothell is pleased to announce Mahnaz Aflatooni Javid, Ed.D as speaker for its 19th annual commencement ceremony.

Dr. Javid was selected for this honor for her commitment to community service and social and economic development projects in the U.S., South and Central America, and Africa.

Mahnaz is a graduate of the University of Washington Bothell (M.Ed., ‘95) and has a doctorate in educational leadership, with a focus on educational technologies and human-software interface from Seattle University. She is a recognized expert in the integration of technology across disciplines to enhance learning, and has authored several articles in scholarly publications.

She is one of the founding members of the Mona Foundation, a non-profit organization supporting grassroots educational initiative, raising the status of women and girls in the U.S. and abroad

UW Bothell will hold its commencement on Sunday, June 13, 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Bank of America Arena, Hec Edmundson Pavilion. It is expected that over 700 undergraduate and graduate students will participate in the ceremonies.
