BOTHELL, Wash. - The University of Washington Bothell presents its first Leadership Lecture on Tuesday, April 22, 6:30-8:30 p.m. (reception 6:30 p.m., lecture 7:00 p.m.), on campus in the North Creek Events Center, featuring Ken Pyle as keynote speaker.

Pyle will present "Leadership and the Legacy of 'Scoop' Jackson," in which he will examine the qualities of leadership that characterized his good friend and colleague Senator Henry M. 'Scoop' Jackson’s public service. Jackson was an Everett native who served in Congress through the terms of nine presidents, from FDR to Reagan, and was one of the most admired leaders in U.S. history. Through his presentation, Pyle will discuss how Jackson serves as an example of strong leadership that is needed today.

Pyle is the Henry M. Jackson Professor of History and Asian Studies at the University of Washington Seattle. A friend and advisor of Jackson, he traveled extensively in Asia with the Senator and was director of the School of International Studies at the UW Seattle, which was named for Jackson after his death.

The Leadership Lecture is presented with support from the UW Bothell Leadership Fund which provides attendees with opportunities to strengthen leadership skills in service of the community.
