The Master of Science in Computing & Software Systems at UW Bothell partners advanced studies in computer science with detailed analysis of software engineering methodologies. The MSCSS degree is designed to accommodate the needs of working professionals. Enrollment is part time (5 credits per quarter), with courses meeting in the evening two or three times a week. Most students complete the program in just over two years.
The Master’s Preparation Sequence prepares students who lack formal computer science training to succeed in the MSCSS degree program. In this three-course series, students gain an introduction to programming, data structures, algorithms and the software development lifecycle. For those with an undergraduate degree in a different field, courses in the MPS serve as prerequisites for the MSCSS admission requirements.
