Our 45-credit MS Accounting program is designed to be flexible to accommodate busy work schedules. Classes are offered at the Eastside Leadership Center in Bellevue two evenings per week. Class sizes are smaller, to enhance the student experience as you learn from expert faculty and network with other motivated students. Electives integrated within the MBA program provide an opportunity for students to develop additional networking relationships.
If pursued full-time, the entire program can be completed in one academic year by students who have earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Students from other disciplines that do not meet the required prerequisites or students who take fewer than 15 credits each quarter will need up to two years to complete the program.
Since July 1, 2000, candidates in Washington must have completed five years of full time higher education (150 semester hours or 225 quarter hours) prior to taking the CPA exam. Though some students attempt to complete this requirement by taking additional credit hours, typically, completing an undergraduate accounting program alone does not meet the five-year requirement. At the end of this program, all students would have earned the necessary academic credits to sit for the CPA exam.
