Overview of Admissions
The Master of Education program accepts Graduate and Graduate Non-Matriculated (GNM) students. The application process and requirements will vary depending on your interest.
If you meet the below criteria, you are eligible to apply for graduate study at UW Bothell.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Minimum grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the last 90 graded quarter credits (or 60 semester credits)
Be proficient in English: Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency. The ways in which proficiency can be demonstrated are outlined in Memo 8: Graduate School English Language Proficiency Requirements.

Graduate Non-Matriculated Students
Who takes courses as a GNM?
People who think they may apply for admission to an M.E.D. in the future. This is a good way to sample graduate school before making a decision to apply for admission.
People who are planning on just completing an endorsement only program or the Graduate Certificate in Digital Teaching and Learning.
Students from other colleges and universities who need to apply a particular course offered at UW Bothell to a program at their home institution.
People who want to take one or two courses and perhaps apply them to a future degree program, here or at another college or university.
Individuals who have received a bachelor’s degree but who are not current UW Bothell graduate students may apply. Admission to GNM status requires a a bachelor’s degree; 3.0 GPA in the last 90 quarter (or 60 semester) credits; and approval by the School of Educational Studies.
Individuals with F-1 student visas are not eligible for GNM status.Admission Requirements
Limitations on GNM credits
There is no limit on GNM credits earned, but only 12 GNM credits (or combination of GNM and transfer credits) may be applied to a UW Bothell degree program.
