Leadership MBA

The UW Bothell Leadership MBA is a one-of-a-kind MBA program that focuses on leadership development throughout the curriculum.  LMBA students:
  • Make lasting professional connections in their close-knit cohort,
  • Learn to strategically lead diverse organizations,
  • Develop analytical competence and social and emotional intelligence to effectively lead people,
  • Enhance business, team and communication skills, and, 
  • Work with future industry leaders from diverse professional and academic backgrounds.
Above all, LMBA students learn to motivate, inspire and lead.  All students attend a Leadership Practicum that includes regular breakfast meetings with business leaders in the first year and a mentorship program in the second year.
Our LMBA students come from a wide variety of industries such as banking, healthcare, insurance, law, manufacturing, gaming, online services, and software.
 

Program Highlights
 

  • 22 month program designed for working professionals
  • Begins annually in September with a three-day team-building and leadership retreat
  • Classes meet on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6 pm-9:50pm and on occasional Saturdays
  • Students take all their academic year classes with the same dynamic professional cohort.
  • 93% of all MBA entrants finish the program in 5 years; 88% finish in 2 years or less.
  • 95% of all MBA courses are taught by full-time and tenure track faculty who are nationally recognized scholars and practitioners in their fields

LMBA Curriculum
 

The LMBA program starts in September and can be completed in seven quarters including one summer quarter. Some students elect to take an extra summer quarter to fulfill the requirements and graduate in two years. The typical LMBA schedule is:
