Why should you join MATCH?
MATCH is a course at the University of Washington Bothell that helps low-income and first generation high school students gain access to higher education. The U.S Department of Education found that in most cases, family income and parental education levels are better indicators than a students aptitude and test scores of whether that student will earn a four year degree (2005). MATCH acts as a bridge that addresses educational disparities while connecting high school students with the resources they need in order to complete the college application process successfully. MATCH coaches are determined to make an impact on the student’s lives that we serve while gaining valuable leadership experience, cultivating life-long friendships, and contributing to a dynamic and vibrant university experience.
