Curriculum Lab and Materials
The Curriculum Lab, located in LB1-203 in the Campus Library, is designed for instruction of students enrolled in the Certification Program at the University of Washington, Bothell. The Lab includes 15 pcs and 1 mac. The Lab houses the Library's curriculum kits and manuals. Instructors from the Education Department also leave their personal educational materials in the Lab for student use.
The Curriculum Lab is open for education students to use when classes are not being held. Open the door to the lab by swiping your UW ID through the swipe card machine. Contact staff on the first floor if you are having trouble opening the door.

HOURS
The Curriculum Lab is open during regular Library hours. Education students may use the lab anytime classes are not being held. Swipe your UW ID in the swipe card machine to open the door. Contact library staff if you are having trouble using your ID to open the door. Please do not prop the door open. This is a fire hazard and a security concern. MATERIALS
The Curriculum Lab houses most of the curriculum kits held at the Campus
Library. Many of them circulate. Please check them out at the Information
Commons desk on the first floor. Usually you will be using kits when working in
one of your methods classes. Often kits will be placed on closed reserves (i.e.,
the kits will be behind the circulation desk) if they are being used in a class.
You can still check them out. If you notice anything missing from a kit, please
let Venta know.
There are 15 pcs and 1 mac in the Curriculum Lab. Please use your UW NetID to
log on to the computers in the lab. Please be sure to log off the machine when
you are finished. There is no printing in the Lab. All print jobs will be sent
to the printers in the Information Commons where there is a fee-for-print
policy. Please contact a staff member at the Information Commons desk if you
have any questions.
POLICIES
Emergency procedures. IMPORTANT!!! In case of an emergency, please exit out the south wing
exit doors. Do not use the main staircase or the elevators. In an emergency a
roll-down door will close the stairwell. Wood doors will shut the elevators. If
you are in the staircase when the roll-down door closes, walk down to the first
floor and exit out the west doors. If you are in the elevators during an
emergency, you will go down to the first floor. Open the elevator doors and push
on the wood doors to exit the elevators. If you need special assistance during
an emergency, go to the south or north exits on the second floor. There is a
call intercom. Use the intercom to alert emergency workers that you are on the
second floor.
Food. Food is allowed in the Curriculum Lab with the exception of eating near the
computers. Also please maintain a clean environment for your cohort and other
students using the Lab. If you plan on having a larger get together with more
food, please let Venta know so she can contact Physical Plant and have more
trash receptacles available.
Walls. Only blue painting tape may be used on the walls in the Curriculum Lab. There
are also cork strips around the room to show your work.
Noise. I know there is often lots of excitement before, during and after
class, but please try to keep the noise down. There are students in the Library
who are trying to study in a quiet environment.
Library Materials. Please do not leave library materials in the Curriculum Lab
without checking them out. Other students may be looking for them in the stacks, and it can be
frustrating not to find them on the shelves.
Computers. Use you UWNetIDs to log on to the computers in the Curriculum Lab.
There are no generic logons for these machines. Please do not log on to machines
for other students. Each student should log on using their own logons. Remember
to log off when done using the computer. If there are any problems with the
computers, please contact Venta or another library staff member.
Printers. There are no printers in the Curriculum Lab. The computers are
connected to the printers in the Information Commons on the first floor. There
is a fee for printing. Other options include emailing your work to yourself or
saving it to a disk or thumb drive, and then print from home.
End of Quarter Housekeeping. If possible, please take your work off the walls of the
Curriculum Lab at the end of the Quarter. Space will be needed for the next
quarter.
