ERIC - UW restricted   The ERIC database is the world’s largest source of education information. It contains more than 1 million abstracts of journal articles and documents on education research and practice. More information about ERIC.
Education Full Text - UW restricted

Education Full Text provides indexing of periodicals and yearbook articles dating from 1983; abstracting of those dating from Jan. 1994; and full text of those dating from January 1996.

PsycINFO - UW restricted PsycINFO contains citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters and technical reports in the field of psychology, and psychological aspects of related disciplines including medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, anthropology, business, and law.
Social Sciences Citation Index - UW restricted

Social Sciences Citation Index is a  multidisciplinary database, with searchable author abstracts and cited references, covering the journal literature of the social sciences. It indexes 1,700 social science journals, plus individually selected, relevant items from over 3,300 scientific and technical journals.

Internet Sources
U.S. Department of Education The web site for the U.S. Department of Education includes information on initiatives & priorities of the Education Department, research & statistics and publications published by the Department of Education. The site also includes information for parents, teachers and students.
No Child Left Behind The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 reauthorized the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), the main federal law affecting K - 12 education. The NCLB Act incorporates four principles: accountability for results; more choices for parents; greater local control; and an emphasis on scientific research to determine best practices. There has been much discussion and disagreement about this legislation.
Statistical Resources on the Web An excellent place to search for statistics by subject, this guide to Internet statistical resources is provided by the University of Michigan Libraries. Sources are arranged by topic, but can also be searched by keyword.
National Center for Education Statistics The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data that are related to education in the U.S. and other nations. NCES is part of the Institute of Education Sciences, U.S. Department of Education.
National Assessment of Educational Progress The National Assessment of Educational Progress is often called the 'Nation's Report Card.' NAEP is the only nationally representative, continuing assessment of what America's students know and can do in various subject areas. NAEP provides comprehensive measure of students' learning at critical junctures in their school experience.
Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction for the State of Washington The OSPI web site includes information on the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL).
