Moving Videos in Panopto

There are many different ways to move around videos in Panopto. Below a few different methods are highlighted, and you can choose the best method depending on the platform you are using (Panopto, Canvas, Website, etc.)

With Canvas

  • Log into Canvas and navigate to your canvas course.
  • Click on the Panopto Recordings link in the sidebar

  • Click on the Manage My Recordings link in the top right

  • Click on the check box for video (or videos) that you wish to move. 

  • Then click on Move

  • Select the folder in which you want to place the recording

  • Then click Move

With the Panopto Recorder

  • First open Panopto

  • Next click on “Manage Recordings”

  • Find your video in the “Manage Recordings” section and click “set offline”

  • The video should then jump up to the “Offline Recordings” area, from there re-upload the video by selecting the desired folder and pressing “Add new session”

Another Method Using the Recorder:

  • First open Panopto

  • Next click on “Manage Recordings”

  • Find your video in the “Uploaded Recordings” section and click “share”

  • This will prompt Panopto to go to Panopto.uw.edu. 
  • Click on the check box next to the video (or videos) you wish to move.

  • Then click on Move

  • Select the folder in which you want to place the recording

  • Then click Move

Using the panopto.uw.edu Website

  • First head to panopto.uw.edu and sign in

  • Once logged in find the class in which you’ve originally placed your Panopto video. Hover over the video with your mouse in order to bring up the “Settings” option. As you can see when you don’t hover over the video the option will not show up

  • Click the “Settings” option underneath the video. This will open up an “Overview” section from there select the blue “Edit” link next to “Folder” and move the video into the class you want
