Dropbox Registration

Creating an account with Dropbox is simple. First, go to www.dropbox.com/register. Enter your first name, last name, email address and desired password. Check the box next to I agree to Dropbox Terms after reading them. Finally, click the Create Account button.

Dropbox will then download to your computer. In the pop-up window that appears, click Save File for the download to begin.

After the file has downloaded and you have ran the Dropbox installation wizard, Dropbox will be accessible from whichever computer you downloaded it on. You can also access Dropbox from multiple other locations.

Uploading Files to Dropbox

There are two main ways to get files from your computer to your Dropbox: through the Dropbox folder on your computer and through the Dropbox website.

The Dropbox Folder

When you install Dropbox, a folder will be automatically created on your computer. Things that are put in this folder will be synced to your Dropbox account.

To open this folder, go to My Computer (or Finder on Mac). On the left sidebar, you should see a folder titled Dropbox. Click on the folder to open it and view its contents.

If you would like to place a file in the Dropbox folder, simply drag and drop a file from anywhere on your computer into the Dropbox folder.

The file should appear on all of your devices where Dropbox is installed. Be sure all of your devices are synced to ensure that the file(s) are accessible on your account.

The Dropbox Website

To upload files via the Dropbox website, sign into your Dropbox account at www.dropbox.com. Then, click the Upload button at the top of the main Dropbox menu.

A new window will appear, prompting you to choose a file from your computer to upload. Select the file you wish to upload and click the Start Upload button. The file will begin uploading. When it is finished, it will have been successfully added to your Dropbox account!

Accessing Dropbox

Dropbox can be accessed through the program after it is installed on your computer. However, it can also be accessed through the Dropbox website or via apps for the iPad, iPhone, Android or Blackberry.

After signing into your account on any of these applications, you will have access to view and manage your uploaded files.
