Anywhere Polling

Overview

Anywhere Polling allows you to poll over the top of other applications on your computer, such as while you are showing a movie, reading a PDF document, or viewing a webpage. This is useful when you want student interaction and feedback on content in applications and media other than PowerPoint.

To use Anywhere Polling:

  1. Click on the middle column (Anywhere Polling) in the TurningPoint Dashboard (pictured above)
  2. From the Showbar (floating toolbar - top-right corner of screen) click on the green button to start polling
  3. To finish polling, click on the green button again and the results will display after polling has closed

Creating a Question List

  1. From the TurningPoint Dashboard, click on the Content tab at the top of the window
  2. Click on the Content menu, select New, and then click on Question List
  3. Type in a name and a description. If needed, when Preferences is expanded, you can change other settings such as the number of questions and answers, question type, bullet format, etc. Click Save when finished
  4. You can change basic options, such as the question type and the number of responses using the drop-down menus on each question row
  5. To edit questions in detail, double-click on "Enter question text..." to input a question and its answers or click on the Pencil icon. You can add more answers and even change Question, Polling, and Scoring options. Make sure under Scoring options that you select which answer is correct
  6. Click on Close when finished editing a question
  7. When completely finished, click on Save and Close

Polling with a Question List

  1. From the TurningPoint Dashboard, select which question list to use by clicking on it in the Content window, located to the left of PowerPoint Polling and under the Participants list. Then click on Anywhere Polling
  2. From the Showbar (floating toolbar - top-right corner of screen) click on the green button to start polling. Pulling will open the question list and start with the first question automatically.
  3. To finish polling, click on the green button again and the results will display after polling has closed. Starting polling again will move onto the next question
