The Learning Technologies department seeks UW Bothell students for the job of Learning Technologies Student Technologist. We encourage students to apply who may not feel they have the technical skills to work in IT but are willing to learn.


  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Works hard and takes pride in the work
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of users who have a range of technical experience    from beginner to advanced
  • Ability to work and learn in a team or independently
  • Is self-motivated
  • Exhibits a close attention to detail and deadlines
  • Desire to learn about digital media production and learning technologies
  • Prior experience in a customer service position (highly desirable)

Job Expectations:

Student Technologists will be expected to learn and perform the following tasks (note: you do not have to know how to do all of these things when you start - we will train you):

  • Help faculty and students with technology questions (in-person, phone, and email)
  • Tutor students on the use of learning technologies and digital media production
  • Maintain and build content for the Learning Technologies website
  • Research and report on new technologies and educational issues
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of workshops, tutorials, and orientations to computing and multimedia production processes and services
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of LT supported products and services
  • Utilize downtime to improve skills or complete special projects
  • Review and recommend modifications to LT procedures

Compensation and Hours:

  • $12.39 per hour
  • Monday – Friday, variable shifts - 9am to 5pm.
