Advancement and External Relations offers an introductory class for UW Bothell web publishers who use Kentico to maintain web pages for their department, program or school. In this approximately one hour class users will learn how to:
Create and edit pages
Create and edit text (copy/paste, headings, styles, templates, toolbar)
Manage images (insert, delete, resize)
Create and edit: web, content, file and email links
Practice page management (Properties, Checkout, Publish, etc.)
Become familiar with online resources (Kentico documentation, UW branding guidelines, image libraries, accessibility concerns, etc.)
It is mandaorty to complete a training with Advancement & External Relations before receiving Kentico access. If you already have access, please wait until your training is complete before completing major edits on your webpage.
To access Kentico you must have an active UW Bothell Access Account. To get UWB credentials, please have your supervisor fill out the form here. Access to a UWB account is not mandatory before receiving training but may be helpful.
Trainings are typically held every other Friday for approximately one hour. The next training session will be held on Friday February 12th from 11am-12pm. Due to the fact that Kentico can only handle so many users at one time, there are only four spots available per training. To sign-up for training, please email the UWB IT helpdesk at email@example.com and include the following:
In the subject line put "Kentico Training"
In the body include your full name, department, and supervisor.
If requesting for multiple people, include their information as well.
Which session you would like to attend.
Supervisors do not have to make training requests for their employees but are welcome to.
The user receiving the training will get a training confirmation via Outlook calendar invite with the location and training details from the Kentico trainer Ashley Magdall.
Once you have received training, you may request access to Kentico pages. To request editing rights please fill out the CMS Request Form. After you have submitted this form, an email will be sent to the page's Primary Publisher; only the Primary Publisher of that page will be able to grant you access.
If the site you want access to is not listed on the form, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and the Office of Advancement & External Relations will assist you.
