Objective Initiative

Develop a staff recruiting strategy to encourage diverse candidates to apply for IT positions in order to build an IT team that reflects the diversity of our campus.

Design and implement new policies and procedures to improve inclusiveness in recruiting and hiring of IT staff. 
Perform data analysis on recruiting to measure improvement.

Build cultural competence through professional development across the IT team to better support the needs of our diverse campus.

Institute regular IT staff training program in diversity.
Establish IT staff peer-mentoring and support program

Provide accessible technology services to help people with all abilities teach, learn, research, and work at UW Bothell. 

Develop formal criteria detailing universal design requirements for purchasing information systems.
Implement software and hardware to support accessible instruction in STEM subjects.

Improve campus experience

Continue to improve the campus experience with IT services.

Modernize IT customer services systems (helpdesk, checkout, inventory, delivery).

Managing security, risk, & privacy  

Implement a framework for managing IT security, risk, and privacy issues.

Create an IT Security platform and presence to generate awareness, present resources and tools, and services.

 
Create IT Security Website/Page.
Create new IT Security (online and in-person) campus-facing, professional development resources.

Enable campus units to improve cybersecurity by providing security guidance, business processes, and resources to architect distinct security processes into organizational decisions.

 
Reimagine and develop value-add IT cybersecurity and data management consulting services for campus units.
Create new vendor engagement resources.

Create comprehensive Security Plans that encompass all of UW Bothell.

 
Maintain and validate compliance with University, State, and Federal information security standards.
Map high risk assets at UW Bothell.
