Chancellor's Corner

Greetings Alumni and friends,

Summer, in all her glory, is finally upon us. Time to revel in the sun and enjoy all the beauty the Pacific Northwest has to offer. The next time you are thinking of a neat place to visit, consider coming back to campus. The grounds are in tip-top shape and the flowers are all in bloom. Bring your bike and journey on the wetland trails, or come check out a new book at the library. Cap off your visit by meeting up with your favorite professor. We’d love to have you back!

So much has likely changed since you’ve been here. This year we celebrated our 20th anniversary with a rousing party, a day of great reflection and celebration. My favorite part was discussing our future plans with alumni and guests. We have so much in store, including an increase in buildings, campus housing, exciting new degrees, and growth in campus amenities. If you haven’t had the chance, visit our facilities page on the website to view our campus master plans and see for yourself the great things to come.

Starting in the fall we will offer a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at our Eastside Leadership Center in Bellevue. This program is a great complement to our business offerings and features concentrations in entrepreneurship, finance and international business. We will offer another new program offsite this fall, our Bachelor of Science in Nursing will now be offered in Everett as part of Everett Community College’s University Center. Also coming to our main Bothell location is a Bachelor of Science in Biology, part of our new Science and Technology Program and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Media and Communication Studies option, under our Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences Program.

Additional new programs are in the works, and can be found at www.uwb.edu/newdegrees. Degrees are being created based on community input and demand, so be sure to chime in to the conversation and let us know what degree offerings you are seeking.

Keep in touch this summer and post your best vacation and campus visit photos on our Facebook page. Hope to see you soon!

Kind regards,

Kenyon S. Chan
