As a teacher and artist I believe that a fluid dialogue between and across art forms is healthy for students and for art in general. In the classroom I believe in giving students tools and contexts so they can make their own informed choices, rather than passing down set frameworks. I foster self-driven and engaged didactic processes that expect of the student an active participation in her or his own education. I strongly believe in the importance of developing a critical, open, inclusive, engaged educational process. There is great potential in art education as "free art".

I have many years of teaching experience and have taught at art schools including Umeå Art Academy, Malmö Academy of Art, Trondheim Art Academy, Skive Art College in Denmark and the International Academy of Art, Palestine in Ramallah.

As an artist I work in print, performance, internet, sound, sculptural works and objects in an interdisciplinary, conceptual yet socially engaged practice. I work and exhibit extensively, as an artist duo, with my partner Aeron Bergman. My work has been shown in institutions such as the Athens Biennial, the Bergen Triennial, Turku Biennial,  Eastside Projects in Birmingham, IMO in Copenhagen, Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven, Museum of Contemporary Art Oslo, CCA Glasgow, Serralves Museum Porto, ICC Tokyo, Taipei Fine Art Museum, Henie Onstad Art Center in Oslo, Centre George Pompidou and Palais de Tokyo in Paris,  among many others. My work has been screened at the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City, e-Flux Berlin, the Berlin Film Festival, Dundee Art Center, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, Museum of Contemporary Art Vojvodina Novi Sad and many others. In experimental sound I won an award of distinction in digital music at the Prix Ars Electronica in Linz, Austria. I have been commissioned to produce sound works by institutions such as WDR West German radio and Swedish National Radio.  In 2011 I co-founded INCA Detroit, an artist run space and artist in residency in Detroit, USA. INCA Detroit has hosted 7 residents from Norway and Sweden, and has produced 13 exhibitions and events in the space. Recently Aeron Bergman and I opened INCA Seattle, an exhibition and lecture space in Seattle, USA where we curate exhibitions and host resident artists. I have also been awarded the Norwegian Artist Association fellowship for four consecutive years, in addition to numerous project grants from different funding bodies such as Office for Contemporary Art, Norway and the Scottish Art Council.
