November 17, 2014 - IAS faculty members Bruce Kochis and Kristy Leissle hosted a discussion following the screening of Moolaade, as part of the Seattle International Film Festival's Six Continents Series. Moolaade, from acclaimed Senegalese director Ousmane Sembene, is the story of Colle, a woman in Burkina Faso, West Africa, who protects a group of young girls from the practice of female genital cutting. The event was hosted at the SIFF Film Center on the Seattle Center campus.
