October 27, 2014 - IAS faculty member Jin-Kyu Jung participated in a special meeting focused on “Revisiting Critical GIS” in Friday Harbor, WA. from October 17 to 20. This meeting re-examined theories and practices of critical GIS, which were originated from the Friday Harbor meeting between critical human geographers and GIS practitioners two decades ago.  It drew a particular attention to new developments in the field, including the rapid development and dissemination of digital geospatial technologies, Big Data, the Geographic Web, and the spatial humanities.
