Bruce Burgett speaks on “Sex History Games” at Northwestern University

October 27, 2014 - IAS dean and faculty member Bruce Burgett was an invited speaker at “On Moving Ground: The Unsettled States of American Studies,” a symposium held at Northwestern University to mark the publication of a new book, Unsettled States: Nineteenth Century American Literary Studies.  Burgett’s contribution to the symposium, “Sex History Games,” discussed four games played by US literary historians when they approach questions of sex and sexuality: hide-and-seek, tag-you’re-it, Marco Polo, and Blind Man’s Bluff.
