Dan Berger speaks on histories of violence, race, and identity

April 16, 2014 - IAS faculty member Dan Berger presented at the annual conferences of the Organization of American Historians (OAH) and the Western Political Science Association (WPSA).  At the OAH, Berger spoke on a panel with the History of Violence collective on the subject of “ethical telling” in teaching about state violence. At the WPSA, Berger spoke on two panels: one about race and American political identity, and another as part of an “author meets critic” session on George Ciccariello-Maher’s We Created Ch├ívez: A People’s History of the Venezuelan Revolution .
