The Pacific Sociological AssociationApril 1, 2014 - IAS faculty members Julie Shayne and Kari Lerum presented papers at the 2014 Pacific Sociological Association conference.  Shayne’s contribution was titled “Archiving Stories: Feminist Activism and Research in the Americas” and focused on her forthcoming book Taking Risks: Feminist Activism and Research in the Americas. She also organized and presented in a session on “The Ins and Outs of Edited Collections,” which discussed anthologies from a variety of angles, with a specific emphasis on how edited books and book chapters are assessed by tenure and promotion committees. Kari Lerum presented a paper on “Regulating Sexuality: how transgender sex workers are impacted by anti-prostitution policies.”
