March 5, 2014 - IAS faculty members Leslie Ashbaugh and Kristin Gustafson  joined librarian Dani Rowland to describe how faculty, staff, and administrators collaborate on first-year and pre-major programs at the Association of American Colleges & Universities conference in Portland, Oregon, on "Disruptions, Innovations, and Opportunities."  Developed with IAS faculty member Jennifer Atkinson, their presentation identified collaboration among faculty, advisers, librarians, Student Success Center, Quantitative Skills Center, Student Life, and the Writing and Communication Center as key to success.  "Curriculum as collaboration" -- a concept that integrates the Discovery Core Sequence, team-taught classes, e-Portfolio, and community experience -- supports students and faculty through a structured community.
