March 3, 2014 - IAS faculty member Jed Murr performed a piece called "Accompaniment and Failed Translation" as part of Reiterations: An Intertextual Event, curated by Natalie Ann Martinez. The event featured visual artist Molly Mac's current multimedia project "Never Louder than an Easy Hum," an ongoing series of performances, happenings, and exhibitions in which Mac develops and navigates a relationship with the Grand Coulee Dam. Murr's performance mixed stolen sounds and images with his poetry and theory to stage dissonant dialogues with the work of Nick Cave, Fred Moten, Julia Freeman, and other creators.
